I’ve been in Contract based Nursing roles for over a decade & prior to that I was in teaching and Social Work & with my retirement years edging closer to me, I decided to make some changes to create a better lifestyle for myself.
Now, I’m working Online, I have full flexibility & portability and I’m so glad that I took that leap of faith when I saw a little ad - that’s probably how you found me!
The most appealing aspect of the business is that I control how much or how little I work, and from where - home, or away!
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I’m very lucky to have had great roles throughout my nursing career but the hours are always long & unfortunately, the contracts are not guaranteed. I was having to travel a lot for work - several hours away from home which meant I was missing out on the great moments with my grown children & I was completely out of touch with my social life & all the things that I love at home.
I wanted to find a way to take control of my finances, in a shorter space of time, before my retirement snuck up on me & I wasn’t prepared or set up for a good lifestyle.
THE CAREER MOVES THAT TAUGHT ME A LOT: Until now, I’d never been in business before, I’d always followed the traditional job & career path & worked hard, really hard. When I originally moved from Kenya to the UK to study, I knew that I was going to have to be patient while I built my career & there was no other way to start than from the ground up. My work ethic has never failed me but in Social Work & Nursing, while it is personally rewarding, the financial rewards are not always there.
Knowing I needed to make a big change, I felt comforted in a feeling that this opportunity just “felt right”. After connecting with my new mentor & reviewing all of the information, I thought, “This could be the one!” & I decided to take a leap of faith.
THE BELIEF THAT LED ME TO SUCCESS: I am a nurturer by nature & I have always loved seeing other people get better, whether it’s with their health or their mindset, I love to see people improving their lives. A lot of the
younger staff that I’ve worked with most recently, I love that I get to see them grow in their careers now!
I realised that in all this time of study & hard work, I had lacked the time or priority to work on myself. Since starting this business & working through some incredible Personal Development courses, I have felt like something is just “clicking” with me. It’s all making sense & it feels good to see that growth within myself. Firstly, I was able to tick off some really great weight loss goals, which had been impossible for me in the past!
Working independently within this incredibly supportive community makes the work fun & so rewarding
THE BUSINESS THAT WAS A BOOM: I am excited about my work every day now. I love having the chance to build a business all over the world & choose how much or how little I do every day. I love meeting new people & I am constantly motivated by listening to the stories of other people within our Online Business community - where they have come from & where they are in their business growth now.
My mental wellbeing hasn’t been this good for such a long time & it’s exciting to think about where to expand to next - of course it’s all the places that I want to travel to, in my “new style of retirement”!
